The Business Tax Working Group has now released a discussion paper that canvasses a number of possible ways in which a cut to the company tax rate could be funded from within the business tax system.

The Working Group invites written submissions from businesses and the wider community in response to the discussion paper.

Written submissions should be provided to the Working Group Secretariat by close of businesses on Friday, 21 September 2012.

The Working Group will endeavour to meet with stakeholders over the course of August and September 2012 in relation to the discussion paper.  Further information can be obtained from the Working Group Secretariat.

The Working Group plans to release a draft of its final report to the Treasurer in late October 2012. That report will provide a summary of the key themes from consultation on the discussion paper. The Working Group's final report to the Treasurer is due in December 2012.
