The existing A New Tax System (Australian Business Number) Regulations 1999 are scheduled to sunset on 1 April 2021.
The draft A New Tax System (Australian Business Number) Regulations 2020 repeal the A New Tax System (Australian Business Number) Regulations 1999, and remake and improve the operation of the regulations.
The draft regulations do not alter the substantive meaning or operation of the existing regulations. Minor technical changes have been made to reflect current drafting practice.
