The Government has released draft Regulations which support the operation of the electronic portability request scheme for superannuation benefits.
The proposed regulations will amend the Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Regulations 1994 and the Retirement Savings Accounts Regulations 1997.
Under the scheme, superannuation fund members and holders of retirement savings accounts (RSAs) will be able to electronically request the rollover or transfer of their benefits through a portal on the website of the Australian Taxation Office.
