Government response to the Financial System Inquiry

The Government established a Financial System Inquiry ('the Inquiry') in late 2013, delivering on its election commitment to hold a root and branch examination of Australia's financial system.

The Government’s response sets out an agenda for improving our financial system that builds on existing Government policy. The Government’s financial system program will position Australia to respond to challenges and opportunities so we all benefit from the best financial system in the world.

The Government’s actions in response to the Inquiry recommendations will help to deliver a financial system that is resilient, efficient and fair.
