The Regional Banking Taskforce was established on 22 October 2021 to bring banks and other key stakeholders to work together in partnership to assess how bank branch closures have impacted local businesses, industries and communities and work collaboratively to identify possible solutions.
The Taskforce held meetings in Sydney, Orange, Mildura and Canberra. It also released an Issues Paper and had a public consultation from 18 November 2021 to 18 December 2021.
